Didn't fare up to its title
This publication was inexpensively produced and doesn't come obstruct to making the reader a "guru." There wasn't much in it I hadn't already seen elsewhere.
Compelling but dated
This is a pretty technical book but much of it is now dated information only befitting to older iPods from what I understand. Still, at the very least, its interesting to see the imminent of your little toy.

Was downhearted that 12/13 year old thought game was too junior. This was rated to be good for kids though.

OK, for me from where one stands, not too exciting (waaaay too little challenge), but it's not unqualifiedly meant for 30-something moms. It's meant for their understandable and middle school boys (and girls). My preschooler is too under age to play but keeps having me play so he can mind the monsters fight. The "fights" are basically a changing of rock-paper-scissors, and the monsters actions look like minor kids "fighting". Sometimes, one monster will hurt the other by farting. Other times, belching. I straight leveled up to the point where they throw boogers and something from under their armpits. (I DID say basic boys are the target, remember.) Customizing the monsters is fun, too.
Ingredients to cut d understand tonics to help defeat other monsters register wire bundles (from smashing cars in the junkyard), teddy bears (from the average ground trash cans), globs of oil and flood, cat skeletons (trash cans), coin jars, and more. For what I simulate is the target market of elementary boys, I intend they'll love it.

While an okay target dissemble, I was expecting a little more action from the combat and exploring. This is why I said it is a eminent game depending on your age. The monsters are very well animated, and if you from building and accessorizing your beast (kind of like in the Sims) it has a lot of options. There is even an region where you can take the monsters picture and he will do various poses.
Also, the animations for the creatures during the fights are amusing, with both sides doing th moves, "talk to the hand", and quite a few other things including "mooning" the other mutation when they defeat it.
So, if you are looking for a tactical simulation or dissolutely paced RTS game, you won't be happy. If you are looking for something a bit cuter that would interest to someone a bit younger, then you will probably be quite happy with this pretend. I don't think it will be a game that makes it into the teen years, but younger than that, and it would be moral.
