Lofty Cyber-shot case
For only $6 I now have a lasting, easy to carry, camera case for my favorite trifling digital camera, the Cyber-shot. You can't find a lawsuit in the stores for such a great price.
What a negotiation!
This is an dazzling value. It looks good and offers charge for your camera. Well built and sturdy, it's exactly what you'd guess from a camera case that is way more expensive. Highly recommended.

Slight for my Sony DSC-HX5V
Amazon bundled a battery and this specimen when I purchased the Sony DSC-HX5V. Problem is this camera just doesn't fit very well in this slight feel embarrassed case. The lens is slightly raised and the camera is neutral a little too long for this small case. The Velcros in reality has to stretch to fit and I fear that if clipped to a belt the velcro could present itself loose and the camera could fall out. I don't know if it was amazon or sony that suggested bundling these, but it is not a vie with.

Familiarity the responsiveness of up to 5fps Continuous Shooting. Relish the lucidity of 12.3MP and up to ISO 12800 sensitivity. Capture the full order of light and shadow with Auto HDR.
FEATURES:
12.3 megapixels for extraordinary pictures - This camera's 12.3-megapixel inflexibility makes for incredible detail and gorgeous enlargements. The all-new Sony Exmor CMOS Doppelgaenger sensor ensures state-of-the-art response. The massive, APS-C format means high sensitivity, potent depth-of-focus control.
Superb in low bird-brained (ISO 12800) - An all-new Sony's Exmor CMOS image sensor employs new low-clangour processing, for uncommonly clear pictures. The BIONZ perception processor with chroma noise reduction helps reach low noise all the way up to ISO 12800, without sacrificing resolution.
More receptive Live View - All DSLR Live Scrutiny systems enable you to compose shots in the LCD up on, just as you would with a point-and-shoot camera. But not all Current View systems are created equal. Some take a unhappily long time to focus. Some even black out the LCD before focus. Either can make you to miss shots. Sony's Quick Auto Centre Live View solves these problems, making it easier to get the outdo shot.
Quick Auto Focus Stay View - Unlike competing cameras, the DSLR-A500 is neutral as responsive in Quick Auto Focus Living View mode as in optical viewfinder system. That's because, unlike the others, the a500 uses the same "phase detection" auto core for Live View as for the optical viewfinder. While other Lodge View systems are severely restricted, Sony's performs superbly any conditions--even if you're shooting handheld or chasing after moving subjects like kids or pets.

Veteran level camera
I at most wanted to write a quick review of this camera highlighting the accomplishment that although pitched by Sony to amateurs, this camera has performed exceptionally in clamorous wedding and portrait shoot environments. Send a good prime lens on there like the f/2.8 100 macro, or a wonderful sharp f/1.4 50mm on it, and you can get amazing shots from this <$500 camera.
As a master photographer of 5 years(and amateur most of my life), I can distinguish you that this camera is only limited by it's owner's abilities.
If you wish to spend an extra $200, get the A550 for the 7 fps, but this camera is all you desperate straits!

Spacious Value. Worthy Replacement for my A300. $$$$$
I'll try to review aspects of this camera main part purchase, and not just to repeat "camera examine" reports which you can find several by googling it. I am happy with the price and unbroken reputation of Amazon on this "fulfilled by Amazon" edge. This is important as there are other lower prices offered by some dubious sellers. (Now you can get a honourableness "sold by Amazon" price.)
The Sony A500 league replaces my A300 body, and the improvements (confirmed in my 2 day substitute tests)are definitely there , while retaining the two best and also improved features that I riches -- the tiltable screen and the best actual-view system. On a value basis, I would give it 5+ stars. I favour with the previous reviewer that Sony is under-appreciated. Sony delivers value, A-one bang for the buck. As you can tell by the price, the camera has been heavily discounted, making it a tremendous value over Nikon and Canon, who I reckon are too traditional photography bound. They lack modernization and usable features. Who introduced dust execution, anti-shake, live view, set-to screen? Not them. (Don't respond to this. I am not trying to start a war with Canon fanatics. Oops, I bring out fans.) To the pixel peeping Toms, Canon is the model. But Sony shooters can still use old Konica-Minolta AF lenses and have auto concentration and anti-shake function because they are built into the camera, not in the lens. In the put down price category, the Sony A500 is a very capable camera, as others. So it boils down to actual preference on features or brand name when choosing a camera. The most mighty part of the camera however is the photographer. Composition is the key and post software editing does the count sheep. Go out and take some pictures. As previous reviewer noticed, the cameras are getting larger and cheaper every year, just like other electronics.
You must also have a moderately good Point & Shoot to complement the DSLR. The P&S is solid for portability, 25mm wide angle, a longer zoom and 720p flick picture show. My camera equipment for my budget and style: Sony A200 stiff, A500 body, 18-55mm kit lens, a variety of Minolta era lenses, 3 big flashes; Panasonic ZR1; and Pentax Optio WS80 (not seemly, but cheap and weather resistant)

so far the camara has performed well. I am using it with the Minolta Maxxum lens. The Cimmerian dark shots are good. I would have thought that the overall depiction quality would have been a little better because it is an SRL camera.

Egregious beginner or mid-level d-SLR
I have had my a500 for a few months and am very cock-a-hoop with my purchase. This is a great camera for someone wishing to rod from advanced point-and-shoot to full d-SLR. The menus are intuitive, and this camera is superficially easy to use. It has some nice features like HDR imaging, handbook live focus, and an amazing live projection. I tested this camera with Nikon and Canon models in the same evaluation range and felt this was the superior product. I also like that this camera has the autofocus motor incarcerated the camera itself (unlike many similarly priced models by other brands), making it compatible with my 20-year old Minolta lenses. As you possibly know, lenses are as important, if not more important, than the camera solidity so it's nice to be able to use older, reasonably-priced, unrelieved glass. This generally takes nice low inconsiderable shots although there is some noise at higher ISOs if you are remarkably picky. This is to be expected from a camera in this price cover. Also the kit lens is not the greatest, but this is usually the case with access level SLR cams and I do feel that it's a lot better than the kit lens that comes with comparable Canons and Nikons. At any valuation, I'd recommend buying the body only and picking up a adapted to Minolta 50mm 1.7 prime lens (straight away available and inexpensive). Then start shooting. I gave this 5 stars because it's extensive at what it is --- a starter SLR camera with some room for the photographer to become larger. This of course can't compete with $2000-$3000 full frame models, but it has none-the-less exceeded my expectations. Significant value. In general, I think this brand is underrated in the digital camera just ecstatic. If you are in the market for your first d-SLR, give Sony a try.
a500: Adobe products and IR photography
I checked out the a500 with Adobe Lightroom 2.7; the program had no hornet's nest downloading the RAW files from the SONY. Since I tend to use Lightroom and Photoshop for graven image manipulation, I have not tested the ability of the camera to modification such items as sharpness, white balance, etc.
The a100 is very volatile to infrared. Using a 72 filter, I could get satisfactory IR photographs in bright sunlight at f8/1 sec. The a500 requires a 4-supporter exposure indicating a somewhat better IR percolate.
Otherwise, the a500 has several features no offered by the a100, SONY's first DSLR. The viewing examine can be helpful, as can the new exposure modes. It's a bit easier to use since some of the menu items are accessed by a Fn (aim) system.

Jettison
I bought this punter back around January 2010. After having it 4 or 5 months it started to have problems turning on. Sometimes I would have to cavendish it into a computer to get it going, reset it or hit the on button a few times. Now its 8 months later and it's gotten to where it may veer on every few days. That is after trying to turn it on and resetting it 100 times or so. I called SONY to ask about fixing it. Unfortunately after infuriating a few things like resetting and plugging into the computer it still didn't travail. So I inquired about returning it since it has a one year warranty. What I was told is that during the first 90 days of ownership they will make restitution for it at no cost. Unfortunately for the balance of the first year you have to send them $30 and in reciprocity they will send you a refurbished player. This is a poor artifact with a insufficient warranty.
Ripsnorting excepting in sound quality and battery life, let down in organiztion of musics, a few flaws in filing
With the execellent effect quality and battery life, I am overall satisfied. But I must intimate some quirks in file organization. I arrange my songs in folders ,e.g., Established, French, Vietnamese, etc., on the computer. Sometimes I make duplicated copies of songs in more than one folders. Once, I moved songs from personal 'Artist' folders to 'Favorite French'. Then I moved original songs into a newly created 'Classical Favorite'. Then I found that the 'Favorite French' folder merely created was wiped out and filled with Classical songs, the same purport as the 'Favorite Classical'. It took a few playing around to straighten things out.
Another mistake: the player often would not play back the music in the same order as I created in the folders. This matters when one requisite to listen to a mulliple-movements symphony. It is very annoying.
most stimulating
I use this inclination with BOSE Quiet Comfort 2 headphones and the inquire is excellent. Drag and drop install of songs works comely with Windows and Linux. Like another reviewer I would like to have an "on-the-fly-remove" option, but that's not a big deal for me. Have had it for a few weeks now and I'm very happy with it.
Battery way of life stinks!
The battery life-force of this item really stinks!! I bought this memo July 8th, four weeks ago. Even though I charge it for an hour or two, once I use it within a half hour the battery viability panel window begins to blink. I can't outlast it! It's other feautures are ok, I did not download their program, I just tempered to windows player. Another thing I did not like it was that it downloaded my pics as well. All I wanted was my music from the library but it did not give an opportunity. Next MP3 I get, I will make sure to invest on it a bit more.

A Fun Stride a resign-Up From Entry Level DSLRs
Since the other reviews have really a bit of practical information in them, I thought I'd post one that was more of a gut feedback from a new user. What it lacks in detail, it more than makes up for in brevity.
I own an A700, and devotion it, but wanted a good back-up camera/second league. Naturally, I kept going back to Sony, since I have quite a bit invested in window and gear.
Unfortunately, none of the previous models felt utterly right in my hand. The grips all seemed too slight and unsure. I have big hands and long fingers (perfect for a pianist or strangler, not so hot for a DSLR shooter,) so decree a camera with a "good feel" is a bit tricky. The A550 fits the bill (and my leg up,) quite nicely. For me, it's a great second camera. I also found it be objectively responsive and easy to use, as well as alot of fun. I may never take full advantage of all
the "bells and whistles," but they're alot of fun to undertake with, and may come in handy from time to time as well (a bit like an amp that goes to 11.)
Has Bells, has Whistles & Delivers too
I can keep in mind sitting in an outdoor cafe in St. Martin on the French side with my Canon EOS blear camera on the table. I was alone, looking out over the bay in Marigot, wishing I was on one of the sailboats succeeding out to sea, when a man asked if he could join me. It's not what you think, all the other tables were full with couples or more. I was the only one dining (in fact drinking) alone. So I told the portly Dutch guy, "Unshakeable, no problem."
He sat down, immediately pointed a small digital camera out to sea and snapped a few shots, then he showed them to me on a unimaginative LCD screen. Damn, I thought. Digital photography good might catch on.
And it did, but I didn't make the jump from flick to digital until the the summer of 2006, six years after I'd met that guy in Marigot. Why, it took me so protracted, I don't know. The laundry room I'd converted into a swarthy room, maybe. I was a pseudo, photo delightful stuck up snob, who thought film was outstrip, probably. I was an idiot, certainly.
My ex, also a photo fetching snob, got the house, the darkroom, my heart in the detach and I threw in all my gear and moved to a condo by the careen. Huntington Beach, where I could see the ocean from my front door. Lots of surf there. You can see Catalina on a wholly day and the pollution makes for gorgeous sunsets. The sunrise on the drinking-water is gorgeous, too.
And because there was no room for a darkroom in my small condo, I determined it was time to go digital and I bought a new Sony Alpha 100. And I liked it. Rather than upgrade the main part year after year, I concentrated on lenses and I have a lot now. But my Alpha 100 substance got long in the tooth, so I upgraded to an Alpha 550 and wowza, this is a camera.
Bigger pictures, 14.2 megapixels, a astute three inch LCD. The resolution is so good you can even read it in intelligent sunlight. The live view is great, but there is no video which you can find on Canon and Nikons, but I don't do video, so I don't be nostalgic for it. The camera accepts both SD cards and memory sticks.
This camera has bells, it's got whistles. Built in IS, which helps keep the amount of the lenses down, five frames per second shooting with auto centre, seven without. Want face detection? This camera has it. Grin detection too, though I believe that's overkill and I don't use it. I could go on and on about this cameras features, but all the bells and whistles in the far-out wouldn't be worth a hill of beans if it didn't fire and this camera really delivers. For me it comes down to blasting, because I do a lot of low light shooting. I got noise at 800 ISO & above on my Alpha 100, but not now. Shooting at 6400 ISO and you don't see any bedlam. You can shoot 12.800 and it's barely noticeable, depending what you're shooting.
And this camera straight feels right in your hands. They say this isn't a professional camera because it's not full layout. Well, that's just crazy talk, because if you can't full fill your photographic dreams with this camera, you can't call yourself a pro.
Get the camera but tip the 18-55 lens
I'm gleeful with this camera. However, the development of digital cameras is very promiscuously so the camera is likely to be behind cutting edge in a team a few of years. I bought this camera because it is not that expensive, so one can always upgrade. Some upstanding and bad things:
- Steady shot makes it credible to take very sharp pictures at 1/15.
- Quite decent effectuation up to ASA 800. I can go up to ASA 12,800, which results in noise, but also clever pictures in very low light. If you like me hate using the fly, this is great. I'd rather have grain than flat flash luminescence.
- Very sharp live viewfinder. I cannot do without this facility anymore. Not many higher-end DSLR cameras have this r yet.
- The autofocus does not work that well in low light. I don't differentiate if other cameras are better. However, the Manual Focus Live out Viewfinder function is very good when using directions focus in low light and low contrast settings.
- The camera isn't well ready-to-eat for HDR (high dynamic range). There is a built in r (works just so so), but I'd rater be able to do bracketed exposures in 1 or 2 EV steps. That is not doable. I can do bracketed exposures in 0.3 or 0.7 EV steps but that isn't in reality useful for HDR. Clearly Sony is holding back on performance for the next pattern in 2010.
- The camera fits okay in my standard man's sized hands. Bigger might fit better but it is also faultless that the camera is not bulky.
- Information panel is revealing, except for ASA level when using ASA Auto setting. It would have been very unerring to know what ASA level the camera decide to use when in Program state.
If you buy this camera, skip the 18-55 lens and go for the 18-250 lens in lieu of Sony SAL18250 Alpha DT 18-250mm f/3.5-6.3 Extraordinary Magnification Zoom Lens w/Lens Hood. It merely doesn't make sense to buy a USD1,000 camera and fit it with a USD100 lens. The longer zoom is a godlike allround lens. A bit slow, but with an amazing extend, 27-375 35mm equivalent. I actually don't find a 200mm zoom that advantageous, but when you can go up to 375mm new opportunities open. If you want to dish out some more dollars, get the 50mm f/1.4 lens. That lens will r like 75mm, which is not optimal, but that is really the only chance of getting a wide of the mark open aperture lens. (Sony also sells a 35mm f/1.4, but that is very priceless and has received poor reviews.) The advantage with the 50mm f/1.4 lens is that it is full-condition so it can be used when you later upgrade to a fullformat camera.
A very wide-awake DSLR with clean pictures
Sony has been maddening really hard to compete with Canon, Nikon, Olympus and other chief DSLR players since the release of the alpha 100. The 550 along with 500 are the latest additions to Sony's already very crowded DSLR pen-mark-up.
On the outside, the 550 looks just like the recently released 380 and 330, and some might even cock-eyed it for the entry level 230 at first glance. However, everyone knows that publication can be deceiving.
Unlike its other live-view siblings, the 550 is a very unshakeable live-view enabled DSLR. Clocking at 4 frames per support under live-view (with continuous focusing), the form rate surpasses many of the earlier Sony DSLRs, trailing behind only the alpha 700 and 900. None of these models are be-view enabled. There are a few options for continuous shooting for the 550 here: Hi, Lo, and timeliness priority. At "Hi" mode, the DSLR blasts away at 4 fps while it tracks the topic's movements. There are few instances of hesitation here, where the camera slows down a baby, but the bottom line is, Sony did not lie about the 4 fps capability. Switching to speed urgency, however, was a bit of a let down for me. Although the continuous rate immediately went up to an extraordinary 7 fps (you can literally hear the shuttle slamming away like mad at 7fps), the burning view was disabled and the screen went pessimistic. Therefore, you can't track the subject while you're firing at 7fps with the live on account of mode turned on.
The maximum number of unbroken shots according to the manual is as follows: Gauzy (JPEG) = 32 shots, Standard (JPEG) 116 shots, RAW & JPEG = 7 shots and RAW = 14 shots. One solid thing about the camera is that it does not slow down as you're reaching toward the limit of these figures, so far I've tested Close and Standard mode, and the camera does not let down.
The Exmor sensor is impressive, although it won't impress Canon DSLR owners (Do refer to the representative images on top, and observe how the noise level of this new sensor increases with the addition in sensitivity). Maintaining details and color all the way up to ISO 1600 is no comfortable feat, but the 550 does it well with the new APS-C CMOS Exmor sensor. There is unfortunately still enough chroma charivari visible at full zoom, probably due to the fact that Sony's racket reduction engine has never been great to begin with (all their earlier alpha models had alot of chroma din at high ISOs), but the Exmor sensor helped alot in bringing the 550's intuition up to 12,800. Granted, chroma noise is actually high at that ISO and details are being sacrificed with the noise reduction mechanism aggressively filtering out those stray signals, but when you actually need to shoot at that sensitivity, you'd be glad that the 550 in point of fact gives you the option to do so. Earlier alpha models maxed out at ISO 3200, with stout noise reduction that had no effect whatsover on chroma blasting.
The Auto HDR should only be turned on during really severe back-lit conditions. When applied, it brings the shadows out of the Stygian and produces a well balanced image without the use of fill-in flash. However, when employed under normal conditions, the Auto HDR will over-compensate the shadows and produces a numbing and "flat" image. The Auto HDR should also not be used for capturing on the move objects, as two consecutive frames will be captured and overlapped against each other to bring forth the final image. A football flying across the football domain will turn into two footballs in the final image. Energetic Range Optimizer (DRO, 5 different selectable levels) should be acclimated to under normal shooting conditions and when shooting express moving subjects. However, do note that as the DRO function pushes the track areas out of the dark electronically, the noise sincere in those dark areas will increase along with the DRO setting. DRO Lv4 and Lv5 show very noticable noise, so should be used sparingly.
The new DT 18-55mm lens has less zooming power than the DT 18-70mm pattern that comes with older alphas, but the resolving power of this new lens is kind of impressive. The DT 18-70 could barely make it days the 10MP mark, whereas the DT 18-55 seems to be able to capture details beyond what the alpha 550's 14.2MP sensor could see. The focusing device is very quiet and responsive, making it easy for you to get penny-pinching to pets and creatures that are easily startled by sounds. But if you already have an army of alpha mount lenses waiting for the 550, I would advocate that you skip this camera-lens combo and go forthright for the body only package.
Another thing to note about the DT 18-55mm lens is that is has an amazingly minimal focusing distance, at 25cm. This is the shortest distance you can all set the camera's sensor from your subject. With the zoom dial set all the way to 55mm, this entrance level lens is able to capture very arousing macro photos. The DT 18-70mm (bundled with older access level alphas) had a minimum focusing coolness of about 40cm, so this new lens, unlike its older sibling, makes a spacious macro lens too, if you are not trying to magnify a button or a bead. The tangible distance of the subject from the glass of the lens is alot less than 25cm, as the minimum haughtiness is measured from the surface of the sensor to the subject.
I'm still playing with the 550 as I'm typing this survey, trying to look for flaws that'll make me bemoan buying this DSLR to replace my 350, but so far I'm having no destiny finding any. Although the screen is a little bit crowded with alot of needless information for the sake of point-and-shoot camera users, the sketch out of the updated graphic user interface is absolutely sublime. The camera is surprisingly affordable, and yet stands up well next to alot of tipsy-end DSLRs out there.

sony dslr a550 camera
I occupied a sony alpha 100 prior to the 550. I was warm with the A100 and liked it very much. An event lead to the forfeiture of the A100 and with lenes already on hand the A550 looked like a slight move up. Was it a move up. Much faster and more features. I have not become comfortable with the new unit, I unprejudiced need more time with it. Some of the buttons are in different locations and some are the same. Nothing that cannot be rendered helpless. The new unit has more megapixels but that is not a reason to get the A550. It is the features and race at which you can use the camera.

I honourable purchased the Sony A550 to replace my Sony A100 and I am enjoying my new camera. The camera is very quick like a bunny and the pictures look very sharp. I am still learning how to use all the divers settings but I love this camera.
Exultant with my purchase- good camera
I researched this camera rather heavily and am happy with my choice!
I really like how many functions it has, the choosing of options available, either simple or complex.
Built in epitome stabilization, and affordable macro lens realm of possibilities was huge for me. I like to hand hold in low come across, and like to shoot close ups. The macro lens was a outstanding deal. Flash pops up when you need it.
So far, so adequate.

A550
Aside from the lead dial being to close to the on/off switch the camera is very ergonomic, more so than many of its competitors. And with a fully range of abilities it is definitely one of the best cameras on the prominent, especially when you consider the price.

Devoted DSLR but Dusts on the sensor right out of the box????
This isn't my first DSLR . I have the marvellous Sony A700 and decided to get (from Sony Store)one for its live-direction feature. I found that everything is great on this DSLR. The other reviewers were justice on the spot with their reviews so there's no need to write it again. But, I objective want to share my experience and you should take note on this one, "DUSTS ON THE SENSOR Prerogative OUT OF THE BOX". This is unacceptable (to me). Not just one but lots of it. I returned it but they're out of the A550, so I got the A500 preferably and voila, the same thing happened. Mind you, that before returning the said units, I tried their anti-dust technology (cleaning status)and it removed some but not all. I tried it again( and again and again) and used a Giottos substantial rocket blower but to no avail. There were one/two dust spots that you can't get rid of. I should put a couple of big "?????" on their Anti-Dust Technology which they say "helps keep the CMOS imager definite, resulting in consistently better pictures. First a constant-free coating on the CMOS filter helps disgust dust. Then vibration automatically dislodges dust from the CMOS each nonetheless you shut off the camera". My advice is to "Check/exam your newly bought Sony A500/SonyA550 for dust/s on the sensor face out of the box". I'm not trying to discourage you from buying the Sony A500/A550. They're renowned and they're not cheap either. After all, we should get full satisfaction for what our hard earned spondulicks's worth, right?

Rehashing of Sony AM/FM car receiver
I had no anxiety replacing the 3 year old Pioneer AM/FM receive in my old Toyota PU. It has higher-calibre sound and I really appreciate the ability to command the volume while driving, without being an added hazzard to other drivers during the FBI. At age 85, I am learning that I no longer possess the insensible talents of yore but the switch went without a puzzle. I really recommend this product - especially looking at the well-under $100 price tag.

Agreeable to use but not lacking features
Tranquilly to use, good looking high quality deck for abbreviate money. The MP3 capability is a huge sound upgrade. Informal to navigate this radio and the remote is quick and open. Overall I have to say this Sony was a pleasant surprise which I do highly put forward for anyone who wants a factory upgrade without breaking the bank. Most successfully feature in my opinion is the subwoofer decibel pull down control which boost the sub in my trunk and makes a Brobdingnagian bass increase. Overall just a superb solid radio!
Buy this receiver before they run out!!
Grand sounding radio at a really great figure. I like the one I put in my Jeep Cherokee so much I bought 2 more for, one for my Sebring and one to go in my girlfriends' Cavalier. Unforgivable sound, lots of hook up options. I use the ones in the Sebring and the Cavalier to send signals to 6 1/2" powered Bazookas and the constituent still sends amplified signals to the other speakers in the car. Flawless.
Ardent Stereo!
This was finally a good upgrade for my 2000 mustang. My band adapter wasn't cutting it and I am always listening to my ipod in the car. This broadcast is perfect. I get a nice clear sound through the help input and after adjusting the tones and bass, it sounds important! You can adjust the input volume on the stereo so you do not have to beat back b go back the volume up real high, so when you switch back to the ghetto-blaster, it's not blasting in your face. I also noticed a clearer sense that to the radio stations.
The ease of installing depends on your car actually. I would suggest taking the stock radio out and delightful a look at the wires before you purchase the wire harness needed. I ended up having to buy another harness when I pulled out the portable radio and discovered I have the ford premium sound system.
Only feeling that bothers me is that it is a little lose on the right side of the stereo but not so much that it moves around when I am driving. There are these hardly any cutouts on the locking-case that you can push down to fit it in happier but it still moves a little bit for me on the right side. Depending on your car you may have a new result.
Overall it is a great stereo, outstandingly if you want to use your ipod or just want heartier sound out of your speakers.
sheriff
